ProPoSaL – Prototypes and Parts-of-Speech: A cross-linguistic, multi-methods approach to categorization with a focus on Adjectives

Parts-of-Speech or word classes are difficult to define. The existence of adjectives as a cross-linguistic category, in particular, has been challenged. The main goal of our project is to use Natural Language Processing (NLP) and neurolinguistic evidence from three structurally very different languages (Basque, Chinese and English) to verify whether adjectives as a prototypically structured category exist.
