Using field data on Sino-Tibetan languages and Bayesian modeling techniques, M. Widmer, M. Jenny, W. Behr and B. Bickel show that, unlike degrees of inflectional synthesis, morphological cohesion patterns escape reduction effects from mass admixture of second language speakers, resulting in striking homogeneity among the languages.
